Tunggol Boat Landing Facility

Since The Tunggol Boat Landing's completion, the travel of passengers and the transport of farm and fishery products to and from other villages along the Pulangi River have become faster, more convenient and cheaper, as banca fares were reduced by 20%. The boat landing facility and passenger terminal were built through the joint efforts of the barangay and municipal government, and USAID’s Growth with Equity in Mindanao (GEM) Program. The landing is one of 800 small infrastructure projects that GEM will complete, in conjunction with local governments, by August, 2007. The infrastructure projects are designed to improve the socio-economic conditions of communities in conflict-affected areas in Mindanao. GEM is being implemented under the oversight of the Mindanao Economic Development Council (MEDCo).
