Worry-free Crossing

A woman and two children stand on Barangay Bridge in Sarangani Province

These students and their teacher used to have to wade across the Bo-e Creek (photo inset), in Kiamba, Sarangani Province, to get to their school. Following the construction of the Bo-e Barangay Bridge (main photo) they, along with farmers, traders and other residents in the area, are assured of a safer, drier crossing. This infrastructure was built by USAID’s Growth with Equity in Mindanao (GEM) Program in partnership with the provincial government, under the oversight of the Mindanao Development Authority, and helps support Sarangani’s Kalinaw (Peace) Program.
