Corporate Internships for Mindanao Grads

Productive Internships in Dynamic Enterprises (PRIDE) interns meet with the CEO of Interphil Laboratories, Inc.

Gringo Patacpan (right) and Krisonne Sariol (left) meet Francisco Billano, CEO of Interphil Laboratories Inc., at the company’s headquarters in Canlubang, Laguna. Sariol and Patacpan are participating in the Productive Internships in Dynamic Enterprises (PRIDE) project, under which Interphil and other leading corporations are partnering with USAID’s Growth with Equity in Mindanao (GEM) Program to provide managerial and technical internships of 3 to 6 months for qualified recent college graduates from communities in Mindanao, including the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) and other conflict-affected areas. GEM’s PRIDE project is intended to provide corporations with an awareness of a labor pool of capable graduates, and at providing recent graduates—many of them from rural areas of Mindanao—with exposure to the employment opportunities potentially available in the corporate world. The GEM Program is implemented under the oversight of the Mindanao Economic Development Council.
