| IFEX Buyers Drawn To Northern Mindanao Food Items |

The International Food Exhibition 2009 held at the Mall of Asia SMX Convention Center in Manila showcased food products from Region X, including banana chips, seaweed snacks, herb products, dried and processed fruit, and purees and jams, like those sold by this exhibitor (above) from Misamis Occidental. These and other items were showcased in the Northern Mindanao Pavilion of IFEX, with support from DTI, the Department of Agriculture and the GEM Program. Among the many innovative Mindanao products on display at this year’s IFEX were dried green mango, vegetable “coffee” and tuna product variants like siomai and embutido. Some 200 foreign buyers attended the food exhibition. (GEM)
