The International Food Exhibition 2009 was formally opened by Camiguin Governor Jurdin Jesus Romualdo (holding ribbon) with (r-l) Roberto Amores, president of Philfoodex; Undersecretary Tomas Aquino of the Department of Trade and Industry; and Charles Feibel, chief of party of USAID’s Growth with Equity in Mindanao (GEM) Program. Food products from Region X, including dried and processed fruit, purees and jams, banana chips, seaweed snacks and herb products were showcased in the Northern Mindanao Pavilion of IFEX, with support from DTI, the Department of Agriculture and the GEM Program. Some 200 foreign buyers attended the food exhibition at the Mall of Asia SMX Convention Center in Manila. (GEM)
